[TRIO ESTATICO] is an international viola consort bringing together players from three of the top new music ensembles in Europe in search of building a new repertoire and new ways of making music. Founded in 2019, the group consists of violists Paul Beckett (Klangforum Wien), Megumi Kasakawa (Ensemble Modern), and John Stulz (Ensemble Intercontemporain). Together, they perform in solo, duo, and trio formations, exploring repertoire ranging from commissions of cutting edge composers to modern re-compositions of medieval motets and classic 20th century masterpieces for 1-3 violas.
